Clinical Pathology

  • Hematology: Complete blood counts (CBC), blood smears, coagulation
  • Clinical chemistry: Biochemical analysis of blood and body fluids
  • Serology: Antibody detection for infectious diseases
  • Urinalysis: Analysis of urine for diagnostic purposes

Histopathology

  •  Tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining
  • Microscopic examination and analysis of tissues for morphological changes
  • Evaluation of cellular abnormalities, inflammation, and tissue architecture
  • Identification and grading of tumors or lesions

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

  • Detection and localization of specific antigens in tissue sections using antibodies
  • Evaluation of protein expression, cellular markers, and molecular targets
  • Assessment of tissue biomarkers for diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive purposes

Cytology

  • Examination of individual cells or small cell clusters obtained from fluids, aspirates, or brushings
  • Cytological staining and evaluation for cellular abnormalities
  • Diagnosis of cancers, infections, and inflammatory conditions
  • Molecular Pathology:
  • DNA and RNA analysis for genetic alterations, mutations, or gene expression profiling
  • Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays for specific gene detection or quantification
  • Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to identify chromosomal abnormalities
  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) for comprehensive genetic analysis

Special Stains

  • Additional staining techniques to highlight specific cellular components or substances
  • Examples include Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS) for glycogen detection, Masson’s trichrome for connective tissue evaluation, etc.

Digital Pathology

  • Whole slide scanning and digitization of glass slides for computer-based analysis
  • Remote viewing and consultation, telepathology services
